ARCHITECTURAL HELP WANTED: ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTSPERSON/TECHNICAL
ASSISTANT
Soltner Group, Architects is looking to fill an immediate position
for draftsperson and technical assistant. The position has upward
mobility to Project Management or Project Architect. We are a small
professional firm located at the north end of Lake Union
specializing in the analysis, redesign, and repair of exterior
building systems. Our work is technically oriented and consists of
both investigation and documentation of building conditions as well
as the design and oversight of repairs.
The successful candidate will be well organized, technically
oriented, and be able to work as a team player performing multiple
tasks in order to provide production support for Project Architects
and Project Managers. This is a full time, long-term position which
offers a casual work environment, variety of duties, a great
potential for knowledge gain and professional growth with excellent
pay and benefits. While we would prefer a candidate that possesses
all of the attributes outlined below, we are willing to provide
training to the right self-motivated, enthusiastic individual.
1. General Requirements
A. CAD drafting experience required
(1) Archi-CAD desired.
(2) Auto-CAD with willingness to learn Archi-CAD considered.
(3) SketchUp experience desired.
(4) Ability to perform a variety of activities on multiple
projects.
(5) Ability to prioritize work activities and consistently meet
deadlines.
B. Detail and Technically oriented required
(1) Ability to organize and clearly communicate technical
information required.
(2) Understanding of exterior building systems and components
helpful.
(3) Knowledge of Building Codes and regulations helpful.
(4) Familiarity with multi-family structures helpful.
(5) Construction and/or construction administration background
helpful.
(6) Technical writing skills helpful.
C. Mac based systems experience helpful.
D. Knowledge of typical software used including Word, Excel, and
Adobe programs preferred.
E. Recent college/technical school graduate or up to five years of
experience desired.
2. Position Responsibilities
A. Production of Construction Documents in Archi-CAD including
plans, details and building elevations.
B. General Assistance to Project Managers and Architects
including:
(1) Assist Architects on design phase with 3D design drawings in
SketchUp
(2) Code and Product research
(3) Contractor coordination
(4) Field reviews including photography and note taking
(5) Permit submittals and tracking
(6) Report Writing in InDesign
Benefits
A. Salary $50,000-$70,000/ year DOE
(1) Yearly reviews and increases based on performance
