it.SummaryThe Senior Accountant position is focused on the
preparation of MOD's periodic, quarterly, and annual financial
statements. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, self-motivated,
and able to work in a fast-paced and growing business with
conflicting deadlines. Strong communication skills are a must, as
is the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.Key
Responsibilities
- Preparation of the external financial statements, periodic
internal financial reporting package, and related supporting
schedules in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform technical accounting research and draft memos in
accordance with GAAP. Assist the Senior Manager in the application
of new accounting standards.
- Maintain the chart of accounts.
- Assist with the external audits and quarterly reviews,
including preparation of variance analysis and other supporting
schedules.
- Perform testing and analysis of internal controls, ensuring
appropriate internal controls over financial reporting.
- Serve as the back-up for equity administration and
accounting.
- Other ad hoc projects as needed. Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3+ years of similar, progressive experience in Accounting,
month-end closing procedures, reconciliation, and financial
statement preparation.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Technologically savvy with excellent Excel skills
- High degree of professionalism and integrity
- Ability to effectively work with individuals and groups at all
levels of the organization; ability to work independently and as
part of a team.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize and manage multiple
priorities
- Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license
- Public Accounting experience or Financial Reporting experience
for a public company Physical RequirementsOffice work involves
remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a
computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate
a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the
work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up
to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of
force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and
exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in
