Working Hours:Full-time (40+ hours per week)Closing Date:Open position until filledStart Date:August 2022Description:Eastside Academy is a non-profit, Christian alternative high school for teens who struggle with traditional school. Small class-sizes. Relational. Room for creativity. Close-knit setting.Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement instruction consistent with the school approved curriculum for assigned subject areas.
• Submit quarterly syllabi prior to the start of each quarter
• Promote an effective system of student responsibility and accountability
• Promote a classroom environment that respects the dignity of the student and is perceived by the students as equitable, consistent, and based on clear expectations
• Modify instruction to meet the needs of the students
• Employ a variety of methods and materials that will provide a holistic approach to students' learning academically, spiritually, and emotionally
• Effectively manage classroom by implementing discipline, time management, and organization consistent with school policyQualifications:
  • Be a professing Christian and a member of a church or Christian community
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree (required) or a Master's Degree (preferred) from an accredited college or university
  • Be able to work and live in harmony with the core values and affirmations of the Eastside Academy
  • Demonstrate experience and competence in the requirements for this position, particularly in having experience working with at-risk youth
  • Valid Teacher Certification required
