• Clean and safety oriented environmentWe are currently searching for our next Product Development Engineer at our Auburn, WA plant. The position will provide support for the implementation and the onboarding of new products and materials into a production operation, as well as establishing, and maintaining new process improvement opportunities in the areas of product realization, quality, and cost.In this role you will:
• Support and facilitate product realization initiatives.
• Creation and onboarding of various types new product items utilizing BOMs, work centers, specifications, and standards.
• Creation and onboarding of various types new product items in collaboration with customer service, sales, and the product customer.
• Creation and onboarding of various types new product items in collaboration with product development, procurement, and material suppliers.
• Evaluate and analyze current process metrics and performance to identify areas requiring improvements.
• Develop process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity.
• Facilitate the deployment of new and changed processes to provide improved results.
• Develop standard procedures and policies to be followed.
• Train and guide resources as needed.Work with various teams to reduce process and business variations.Assist Managers in management for capital projects.Prepare project presentations for management when needed.Review and update business procedures and documents based on project requirements.
• Provide support with the setup of non-standard products.
• Manage assigned requests, tasks, and projects through planning, organizing, coordinating to ensure required deadlines and expectations are met.ProAmpac is an Equal Opportunity Employer: Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled.
  • BS Degree in chemical or materials engineering or related education
  • 1-5 years of experience at a manufacturing facility
  • Experience in and understanding of Product Item Creation of web-based products (includes graphics) with supporting BOMs & required specifications for production orders
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with cross functional teams: i.e., Sales/Customer Service/Production/Graphics.
  • Strong collaborative and partnership skills
  • Experience in web-based ERP systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; computer proficiency
  • Technical report writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently or in team environment.
