Job Description:
Job Summary The Assembly Mechanic plays a critical role in
assembling, installing, sealing, rigging, and inspecting precision
and structural system components according to detailed
specifications. The role involves working from drawings, documents,
process specifications, and quality control standards to ensure
that all components are fabricated and assembled to meet the
required form, fit, and function. The Assembly Mechanic is also
responsible for maintaining equipment, supporting continuous
workflow, and contributing to the training and development of other
assembly personnel.

Responsibilities:
Assembling, installing, sealing, rigging, and inspecting precision
and structural system components-Working from drawings, documents,
process specifications, and quality control standards-Maintaining
equipment-Supporting continuous workflow-Contributing to the
training and development of other assembly personnel-Obtaining
necessary information from prints, charts, sketches, work
instructions, and verbal/electronic sources-Utilizing shop
mathematics and precision measuring instruments-Performing
functional tests on assemblies and components-Using tooling to
assemble components into sub-assemblies or complete end
items-Verifying that work is performed according to work
instructions and meets process or engineering
specifications-Identifying and reporting discrepancies in the
assembly process-Ensuring tools and equipment are certified and
meet operational requirements-Performing basic machine maintenance
duties-Moving products within the manufacturing work
area-Completing necessary transactions to ensure the product is
moved to the next operation or department-Performing all tasks and
responsibilities within allotted schedules-Assisting and training
employees at all levels-Helping with the development and training
of new assembly personnel-Cross-training in inspection
roles-Becoming SIA qualified
