Job Description:
This position is not a remote position and does require mostly
in-person participation About Aimbridge Energy Aimbridge Energy is
redefining how the commercial world is powered. We build
next-generation DC microgrids and intelligent energy management
systems that help businesses cut costs, stay resilient, and
accelerate their transition to a clean-energy future. Our
technology integrates solar, battery storage, EV charging, and
advanced controls into one unified platform, giving customers
energy independence and a smarter way to operate. We’re not just
another energy company or just a solar company. We’re a
fast-moving, mission-driven team working to transform outdated
power infrastructure in the new electrification of everything era.
Every project we deliver reduces carbon emissions, strengthens
local energy resilience, and brings the future of power one step
closer. At Aimbridge, you’ll be part of a growing organization
where innovation is encouraged, ideas matter, and your work has a
tangible positive impact on communities and the place we call home
(our planet). If you want to be part of building something
meaningful and help shape the future of clean energy this is the
place. The Opportunity Step into a role where your engineering work
doesn’t just meet requirements, it shapes the future of clean
energy. As an Electrical Project Engineer at Aimbridge Energy,
you’ll design and build power electronics, DC microgrid systems,
and intelligent energy platforms that help businesses operate more
efficiently, sustainably, and independently. This is a
full-lifecycle role: you’ll model circuits, select components,
design and validate hardware, build and debug prototypes in the
lab, and support products all the way into production. Your work
will shape inverters, DC-DC converters, battery management systems,
distribution controls, and other technologies central to the
electrification era. You won’t be boxed into a narrow specialty.
You’ll get to collaborate across firmware, mechanical,
manufacturing, and product teams, and see your ideas become real
hardware. If you thrive on solving complex technical problems,
working hands-on, and owning your designs from concept through
certification, Aimbridge Energy is the place to make a lasting
impact. At Aimbridge Energy, we value engineers who are proactive,
curious, and passionate about building a cleaner, smarter energy
future. If that’s you, keep reading. This could be the next big
step in your career and a chance to help redefine how the world is
powered. Key Responsibilities: Design and development Design,
model, and simulate power electronics systems using current
software tools and best practices. Examples of software tool
competency and familiarity include schematic capture, PCB layout,
AI tools, thermal simulation, electrical simulation, and related
design and evaluation tools. Select components (semiconductors,
capacitors, inductors, etc.). Create BOMs, create and edit
technical documents, and provide documentation support for sales,
marketing, instruction manuals, data sheets, UL evaluation and
related safety agency documentation needs. Work closely with
firmware engineers to define project firmware/software
requirements. Prototyping and validation Build and debug prototypes
in a lab setting. Conduct design validation and qualification
testing under various conditions (voltage, temperature, load) using
equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers,
DMMs, source/load, and thermal test systems. Develop prototypes to
resolve key development risks. Technical leadership Lead projects
and collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, PCB
layout, firmware, product management, leadership). Direct and
support engineering interns as needed by the company. Documentation
Create and maintain engineering documentation, including
specifications, test procedures, reports and analysis, BOM details,
etc. Generate engineering documentation in support of design
activities and customer requirements, including failure reports,
design analysis, program progress reports, and configuration
management inputs. Manufacturing support Interface with
manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure designs are
testable, manufacturable, and meet cost targets. Support BOM
costing, design for manufacturability goals. Edit and update test
procedures, component item masters and source control documents.
Support the program design to build out cost estimates and design
for manufacturing requirements. Work collaboratively with
Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management to achieve
material and labor design-to-cost targets Sales-marketing- customer
support Review customer project or application technical
specifications and requirements and assist in the generation of
bids and proposals and feasibility studies. Participate with
product management solution provision support and electrical
design-modeling-costing-rendering and proposal generation.
Participate in technical education, application, and product
functional training for upper management, sales staff, and key
customers. Provide the technical bridge from in-depth product
design to non-technical staff and clients. Problem-solving
Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on hardware and system
issues. Provide training and support. Compliance Ensure designs
comply with relevant safety, performance, EMC, and reliability
standards, as well as safety protocols, especially during
high-voltage testing and high energy discharge. Confirm thermal
safety performance and battery BMS system interoperability.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or
BSEET. Proven success managing complex engineering projects,
including internal and external resource management and direction.
Strong understanding of electronic theory, power electronics, power
conversion principles, battery systems, and PV generation.
Experience in power electronics design and hardware debugging.
Proficiency with lab equipment. Familiarity with project management
principles, Gantt chart tracking, and time management. Ability to
read schematics, mechanical CAD drawings, and engineering
specifications. Strong communication and collaboration skills;
self-motivated and organized. Demonstrated application of
electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, testing
procedures and related knowledge to construct and debug power
electronics circuitry in relation to the design of power conversion
equipment. Strong ability to analyze, record, and interpret test
data to determine product acceptability. Involvement in the design,
development, modification, and analysis of various electronics
systems. Supports engineering team with a variety of complex
engineering duties and/or hands on tasks. Ability to analyze,
record, and interpret test data to determine product acceptability.
Recommend changes in method or installation specifications to
simplify tests or reduce test times. Multi-Layer Printed Circuit
Board (PCB) design capabilities considered an asset. Knowledge of
CAN, SPI, USB, I2C, RS485, RS232, SMBus/PMBus, and Modbus
