POSITION TITLE: Community Center Director

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Center Director (CD) has the responsibility to successfully lead all areas of the daily operations of The Salvation Army Eastside Corps Community Center in Bellevue. The CD will coordinate the aforementioned activities throughout the Center in an efficient and consistent manner. In the absence of the Administrator, the CD has full and direct responsibility for any and all venues of Center operations and programs as assigned by the Administrator. The CD advises and makes recommendations to the Administrator regarding overall departmental and organizational goals, objectives, programs, procedures, and policies. The purpose of the CD position is to provide a consistent executive and ministry driving force throughout all areas of the Center and to represent The Salvation Army Eastside Corps Community Center in the community. The CD will have a deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which will be evident in his or her professional life and the manner in which he or she represents The Salvation Army Eastside Corps Community Center in the community.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. BA or BS in Business or related field and experience in other fields (Preferred)
2. 1 to 3 years progressive supervisory experience in related field
3. Current CPR and First Aid certification (may be acquired after employment).
4. Experience in coaching/motivating groups & have proven leadership skills.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
6. Strong motivational and management skills
7. Maintain professional attitude and approach in problem solving
8. Have the ability to develop and administer budgets
9. Ability to effectively understand, reflect, communicate the Christian principle, mission, vision, goals and strengths of The Salvation Army Eastside Corps Community Center

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be accepted.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

1. 3 to 5 Years of Program Experience with Salvation Army Programs or Operations
2. Proven success as a leader and has worked with HR and other related paperwork for a Salvation Army before.
4. Uniform wearing Salvationist in good standing.
5. Experience with planning and leading programs at the Corps and Divisional level
6. Familiarity with traditional Salvation Army programs at the Corps, Divisional, and Territorial level.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. The Center Director will give direct supervision to the youth and community enrichment programing as well as the day to day operations of the Eastside Corps Community Center.
2. Direct activities in the TSA Eastside Corps Community Center Development, Business, Facilities, Programs, and Human Resources to optimize operational efficiencies under the direction of the Administrator.

a. Develop and implement program plans and budgets with Administrator and Program Leads
b. Lead in the development of fiscally sound programs
c. Review and make recommendations in hiring, discipline, review, rewarding and terminating of staff.
d. Review staff scheduling with Program leads to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
e. Review facility safety and maintenance policies, as well as Protecting the Mission
f. Assist the Administrator to ensure compliance with Salvation Army mission, policies and procedures, 4. The CD will review all legal, insurance and property matters related to the safe operation of the Eastside Corps Community Center with the Administrator.
5. Meet regularly with the Corps officer/Administrator and Program leads to make recommendations for repairs, remodeling, and replacement of facilities and equipment and coordinate business operation and program issues with sound fiscal and budgetary requirements.
6. Assist the Center Administrator, employees with all matters relating to Finance, including budgets, requisitions, proposals for purchase, property proposals and other matters needing approval of the Command Finance Council (CFC). Be available to give answers about expenditures and other fiscal related matters concerning the business aspects of the Eastside Corps Community Center.
7. The CD will lead and assist with Corporate Compliance, Construction Projects, Special Projects, including Seasonal Fundraising Activities of The Salvation Army during Christmas such as Red Kettle Campaign, Angel Tree, etc. other duties as assigned.
8. Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies and submit purchasing requisitions as needed to meet operational needs following budgetary guidelines and procedures for procurement.
9. Strong interpersonal & communication skills. Able to generate, maintain & demonstrate a friendly, enthusiastic positive attitude.
10. Respond professionally to requests and inquiries from guests, members and staff.
11. Work well with Program leads, Support staff, and Divisional Team.
12. Attend weekly and monthly team meetings.
13. Maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving.
14. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
15. Strong motivational and management skills.
16. Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.
17. Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Eastside Corps Community Center.

The position required a high degree of energy, physically fit and have the endurance to complete the workout. Physical effort required for daily duties include lifting heavy weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting & prolonged standing and walking. Must be able to frequently lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
The position requires sitting; climbing and/or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying 50-75 pounds and occasionally more than 75 pounds. This employee may also be required to work weekends and evenings.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the environment is occasionally loud. Extended workdays are a frequent occurrence, as are weekends and holidays as needed to support the business.

Most work will be at The Salvation Army Eastside Corps Community Center. There will also be times where this employee will be outdoors and travel to other TSA sites or off campus. Attendance at trainings and conferences, may be required. Extensive travel is possible, including air travel, driving long distances, night driving, overnight travel, and extended travel of three days or more.

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES
Current CPR and AED certificates may be acquired after employment.
The candidate chosen for this position must have a valid driver's license
