What does a Continuous Improvement Manager do at Swire Coca-Cola? Background: Swire Coca-Cola, USA is committed to building a World Class Supply Chain by adopting and/or developing "Best in Class" Continuous Improvement practices throughout our North American Supply Chain Operations. To accelerate our journey to World Class, we are seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager at each of our facilities. In this role, the successful candidate will be a direct report to the Plant Manager and will partner with the Plant Manager, the facility leadership team, and the Regional Continuous Improvement Manager to enhance and/or improve the capabilities and engagement of the local Supply Chain Operations team. The incumbent in this role is responsible for leading and driving improvement and standardization of operating procedures to ensure optimization of labor, production efficiencies, and cost effectiveness. Incumbent is also responsible for developing and implementing the capability development program for Supply Chain Operations in partnership with local facility leadership team(s). Responsibilities include, but not limited to:--

  • Partners with the plant manager and local facility leadership team to develop, implement and adhere to a five-year roadmap which includes an annual Continuous Improvement deployment plan that enhances / improves the elimination of waste, reduces process / product variation, and reduces operational costs.
  • Continually drives the need for change by providing guidance, coaching, and direct hands-on support to the leadership team and frontline associates in implementing CI modules
  • Manages routine process verification audits so that there is a consistent application of best practices and learning--
  • Coaches and trains Process Champions so they are confident and capable in supporting continuous improvement
  • Creates, plans, implements, facilitates and maintains records for all functional and CI training modules for the facility
  • Observes, collects, and analyzes data to prepare CI reporting to ensure CI processes/programs are value-added
  • Leads progress reviews with the leadership team. Provides candid observations on the journey and recommendations on any gap closure plans that might be required
  • Provides direction and leadership to a local Capability Improvement Administrator (site dependent)
  • Guides and coaches to develop a culture of problem solving
  • Supports a culture of data-driven decision making
  • Special projects as needed What would success in this job look like
    • The Supply Chain Operations team follows a strategy roadmap which contains a Continuous Improvement deployment plan with the full engagement of frontline associates. The facility demonstrates continuous improvement of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost metrics. People Development, Engagement, and Recognition are the cornerstones of the facility's success.
    • Moving toward a world class Supply Chain operation Requirements:--
      • BS Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics required
      • 5+ years in manufacturing environment required - food and beverage manufacturing preferred
      • 3+ years' experience implementation of functional continuous improvement initiatives and programs, i.e. Six Sigma, 5S, lean manufacturing concepts, etc. required
      • 2+ years of leadership experience preferred
      • Experience with project management managing multiple projects and deadlines
      • Experience in Swire Coca-Cola or Coca-Cola System preferred
      • Quality/Safety/Food Safety knowledge preferred--
      • Excels in collaborative teamwork
      • Excellent interpersonal skills to coach / lead / train / direct all levels of the organization
