Partnering to Provide World Class Care Close to Home.The Eastside Health Alliance (EHA) Cardiothoracic program was established in 2017 by EvergreenHealth and Overlake Medical Center & Clinics (Overlake) to provide exceptional cardiothoracic care in our local communities. We are searching for an Administrative Director of Cardiothoracic Services to integrate and advance this service line across both organizations. The new Director will work closely with physician dyad partners and operational leaders to leverage the strengths of each partner organization. This position is a service line position and the leader does not have accountability for the operations of the cardiology departments or clinics.The EHA cardiothoracic program spans two hospital campuses and employed cardiology clinics. Featured services include cardiothoracic surgery, TAVR/structural heart, electrophysiology, cardiac diagnostics, and cardiac rehab.This is a great opportunity for a seasoned healthcare executive to lead the implementation of our shared vision and strategic plan. We are looking for someone who combines a passion for cardiothoracic services with strong strategic, operational and relationship skills. The ability to collaborate effectively with physicians will be essential. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer, EvergreenHealth and the Chief Strategy Officer, Overlake.Primary Duties:

  • Participates in the development and leads implementation of the cardiothoracic strategic plan.
  • Collaborates with the EHA joint cardiac council in the development and implementation of a multi-year provider recruitment plan.
  • Provides input to EHA cardiac council medical and administrative leadership for recruitment, selection, and on-boarding of providers who will cross-cover the joint venture.
  • Works with each organization's respective marketing teams to develop and implement a joint marketing/branding plan to increase awareness of services and grow market share.
  • Sources and assesses business development and growth opportunities for the benefit of the joint venture service line.
  • Works with the EHA joint cardiac quality council to develop and maintain a quality structure to support the joint cardiothoracic program.
  • Collaborates with operational leaders to prepare annual operating and capital budget forecasts for the cardiothoracic service line.
  • Develops and maintains an operational dashboard for the cardiothoracic service line.
  • Prepares agenda and facilitates Joint Cardiac Council meetings.
  • Prepares presentations in collaboration with EHA cardiac council medical and administrative leadership as appropriate for the EHA steering committee and EHA Board related to the joint cardiothoracic service line.
  • Collaborates with operational and financial leaders at each organization to track and report financial performance of the joint venture.
  • Collaborates with clinical and operational leaders at each organization to identify and implement program efficiencies and standardize processes, as directed by the Joint Cardiac Council.
  • Develops and implements new programs, in collaboration with other health system leadership and the physician partners, to accomplish the objectives of the business plans for cardiothoracic services. Coordinates system-wide strategy and planning for services, consistency of standards and developing integrated programs for EvergreenHealth and Overlake.
  • Communicates program plans and accomplishments with both organizations' leadership teams.
  • Collaborates with external partners to develop and enhance program initiatives.
  • Seeks out best practices across the industry, monitors technology evolution, and continuously evaluates emerging opportunities and threats within the market.
  • Provides leadership in collaboration with physician leadership partners and Cardiac Council to plan, develop, implement and evaluate patient care programs, services and practice models including identification of business objectives, capital and other resource needs, expected operating revenues and expenses, and collaborates with operational leaders for allocation of space and organization of program personnel and other operational components.
  • Responsible for helping to identify opportunities and strategies to ensure exceptional patient experience.
  • Works to strengthen and improve the coordination of care for patients between the two organizations
  • Functions as a liaison between other non-cardiac physicians, nursing staff, allied healthcare professionals, patients and other key stakeholders and community partners. Qualifications:License, Certification, Education or Experience:REQUIRED for the position:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field or business administration
  • 5 years of healthcare operations experience
  • Experience in operation of clinical service areas,
  • 5 years of experience in progressive leadership responsibilities in medium sized health system managing multiple sites and lines of business
  • Experience in developing strategic vision for services, business plans, monitoring and managing the finances and operations of services
  • Demonstrated administrative leadership and expertise to effectively partner with physicians, promoting a team approach to strategic planning and the development of a full continuum specialty program.
  • Knowledge of the regional and national healthcare environment a plus.
  • Highly developed expertise in quantitative analysis to support definition and advancement for Overlake and EvergreenHealth's goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive, effective and productive relationships with administrative and clinical leadership.
  • Ability to act as liaison, between the administrative and medical staffs, Boards and external stakeholders. Ability to provide leadership to establish priorities and to develop and implement solutions.
  • Ability to understand physicians' viewpoints and needs and work strategically in the best interest of patients and the hospital. A strong reputation for sustained, inclusive, trust-based physician relations.
  • A high orientation to detail with proven analytical and financial skills.
  • A team player who excels in developing team momentum, and enthusiasm. DESIRED for the position:
