The Own Brands department has an opening for An Assistant Brand Manager Innovation Platforms. This position is open to remote/virtual work and can be located in Pleasanton, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Plano, TX, Boise, ID.

Position Purpose

The Assistant Manager, Innovation Platforms will be responsible for helping to build long term strategic growth platforms for the Albertson's Own Brands organization. This individual will need to leverage consumer understanding, assessment of market trends, and business priorities to identify sustainable long term growth territories for Own Brands, develop breakthrough product platforms that cross multiple areas of the stores (or significantly accelerate key departments within Own Brands) and potentially new brands with work ranging from territory and concept ideation, product concept testing, to execution roadmaps to bring products to market.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
Help identify long term growth platforms based on consumer understanding, competitive landscape, and market trends to enable Albertsons & Own Brands be at the leading edge of solving consumer and shopper needs
Assist with creating the Own Brand vision and strategic direction for long term innovation platforms (breakthrough platforms that are first to market in the industry and unique platforms that can be exclusive to Albertsons for key departments) and potentially new brands to help Own Brands achieve long term brand equity and business performance objectives
Create new product concepts based on ideation and validate purchase interest with consumers / shoppers. "Sell-in" new innovation platforms to key cross-functional stakeholders (national merchandising team, divisions, etc.)
Partner with other functions (product development, finance, supply chain, etc.) to determine feasibility of potential product platforms
Effectively lead team to commercialize new products with excellence including problem solving challenges and identify technology to deliver new/enhanced benefit
Stay current on all new consumer and shopper trends utilizing internal and syndicated data sources.

4-year college degree in business or equivalent experience preferred
3+ years' experience in marketing, innovation, or brand management, preferred industries CPG or Retail
Experience with new product stage gate processes (opportunity, concept, development, commercialization, launch) and financial understanding of Innovation metrics and measures
Understanding of consumer insights tools, testing, and vendors
Strong organizational and attention to detail
Exceptional project management skills and ability to successfully manage multiple priorities
Strong customer service focus and team building skills
Ability to motivate and influence stakeholders across the organization
Ability to combine creative problem solving, analyzing multiple data sources, especially consumer trends and insights, and strategic thinking in a fluid environment, analytical problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication/presentation skills
Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient, and detailed oriented
Self-motivated, and the ability to act with a sense of urgency, intensity, commitment, and integrity. High initiative
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen)
