Additionally, the Director will assist with budget preparation, monitoring of revenue, expenses, test volume, FTE utilization, report/result turnaround, as well as workflow, and customer/employee satisfaction. Will participate in the Senior Leadership Team, coordinate AP Lab departments involved in initiatives, and help develop the strategic direction for the AP operations.Duties and Responsibilities:Collaborates with Laboratory Medical Director, Laboratory Leadership, and other AP Laboratory staff to suggest test methodologies and instrumentation appropriate for clinical useParticipate in the hiring, training, and promotion of laboratory staff in conjunction with Laboratory LeadershipGrow and develop staff to increase overall knowledgebaseCreate a culture of operational and continuous quality improvementManages conflict and identify problems to arrive at constructive solutions while maintaining positive working relationshipsInvolved with the selection, validation, and implementation of new test platformsOversees the technical and operational aspects of the LaboratorySupports the development and delivery of laboratory service collateralsCommunicates to Management updates of departmental action items on a regular basisEnsures compliance with all applicable Federal, State, CAP, and other accreditation agencies' regulationsEstablishes and implements metrics, policies, objectives, procedures for departments and reports on results and outcomesEnsures that CQI efforts in conjunction with the Quality Officer complies with regulatory and accreditation standardsCoordinates, supports, and monitors laboratory departments with major focus on improving the operations to run seamlessly to ensure quality patient careAssists in the development of budgets including recommendations for major equipment purchasesAssists in the development of facility designs and remodelsDevelop and implement strategic plans in alignment with the company's values and missionPerforms other related duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Bachelor's Degree in Histotechnology, Cytotechnology, other science-related field, or equivalent, Master's degree preferredHT/HTL, PA, CT ASCP certification or equivalent5 years' experience in the laboratory with business/management responsibilities preferredKnowledge of Quality Improvement programs, processes, and toolsAbility to work with individuals at all organizational levels, particularly peers, team members, Pathologists, and other departmentsKnowledge of project planning, budgeting, human resources management, and report developmentPrior experience validating and implementing new tests and technologiesExcellent analytical, organizational, communication, interpersonal and public speaking skillsSelf-directed, open to new learning experiences and demonstrate teamworkAbility to coordinate multiple resources effectively to accomplish a task or accept an idea through leadershipHigh level of competency with computers, the internet, and computer software such as MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Vaccination Policy: This site requires workers to be vaccinated for COVID-19.
