self-motivated Safety Director to help continue our top-down safety
culture and support our overarching commitment to cultivating a

The Safety Director will be an expert in their field of
Occupational Safety and Health and is responsible for developing
safety policy, monitoring all health and safety incidents, and
ensuring the overall safety compliance of all PRIME worksites.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with all construction managers (Group Executives,
Project Managers, Superintendents, General Foreman, Foreman and
Tradespeople) with education and implementation of our safety
procedures and protocol
- Manage all compliance with regulatory agencies (OSHA)
- Interface with external partners (NECA, IBEW, etc.) regarding
communication and exchange of information regarding safety related
topics
- Manage a team of Safety Managers with supporting field
operations
- Carry out all safety-related training to all parties. In some
instances, this will be direct training and, in some cases, you
will be asked to "train the trainer"
- Update and keep current all forms of PRIME's safety programs
(written, electronic and/or verbal)
- Partner with foreman to write job-specific safety plans,
schedule regular safety visits and carry out periodic job site
safety audits and related risk corrections
- Ensure weekly safety audits are being performed on job
- Review PRIME's documentation to insure all required onsite
required records, reports and jobsite postings are per established
procedures and requirements
- Assist in work area inspections and personal injury
investigations
- Oversee new vehicle orientation and training
- Work with our Field Leaders and Executives on the planning and
execution of our Safety incentive programs
- Manage entire claims management process of all injuries at
PRIME from the initial reporting and medical interface to case
closure
- Manage any/all vehicle/equipment related safety-related
inspections, recommended repairs, or training of operators
- Manage any/all recommended PNW safety procedures (i.e.: Fire
drills, lock down procedures, prefab or warehouse procedures,
etc.)
- Manage all hazardous materials issues or MSDS form management
systems
- Manage and assist with the training of all craftsman required
personal safety-related certifications (first aid cards, confined
space training, etc.)
- Maintain and manage an updated safety training log
- Assist marketing and all group leaders in providing
safety-related data needed for proposals and presentations
- Work with (and assist) foreman in safety process as it relates
to the foreman's job site pre-task planning steps
- Review (and approve) MOP's (Methods of Procedures) when
outlined and submitted by foreman
- Conduct JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) at the onset of all major
projects
- Support all foreman in their "tool box" site meetings in
relation to safety topics
- Work with the field with ergonomics, material handling
processes and other tasks that can be modified to a more efficient
process
- Be responsible for PRIME's SSSM (Site Specific Safety Manual)
format and production. Administrators usually produce our manuals
and distribute to the foreman
- Provide support the warehouse in safety equipment inspections,
recertification, and calibrations
- Responsible for updating and maintaining PRIME's Injury Illness
Prevention Program (IIPP)
- Serve as Safety advisor on future objectives and directional
changes that you recommend in all of our safety programs
- Ensure full compliance of PRIME's safety plans
- Use and develop a high level of 'commercial judgment' as it
relates to interfacing with all PRIME employees, customers, and 3rd
parties in safety-related matters
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Minimum 7- 10 years of experience leading a progressive and
successful EH&S program in the construction industry
(electrical industry a plus)
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety or relevant field
experience required
- Certifications CHST and/or ASP, CSP
- Demonstrated acumen in safety program management including
knowledge of applicable OSHA, DOT, DOL, and other EHS laws
- Ability to drive continuous improvement programs in the
interest of incrementally improving the safety culture and
performance
- Working knowledge of relevant current legislation
- Practical working knowledge of Health and Safety tools and
techniques, ideally within an electrical construction
environment
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant standards, legislation,
codes of practice, guidance, and operating procedures
- Presentation skills to deliver advice at all levels and to
deliver localized training to staff as required
- Strong organizational skills, information management
proficiency and collaborative management style are needed
- Evidence of strong interpersonal skills in order to establish
credibility with clients, colleagues and senior management
- Ability to work through and identify the root cause of any
problem
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to carry out an audit and gather objective evidence
through observation, interview and sampling of documents and
records.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, etc.)
