Senior Manager, GreenDrop Operations

Summary:

The Senior Manager reports to the Director, GreenDrop Operations and is responsible for operational execution and growth of the GreenDrop donation center business. This position has high visibility, interacting with a broad span of company support channels and Sr. Executives to support market expansion and related growth strategies. The position will have multiple Regional GreenDrop Managers as direct reports at the national level. Under direction of senior management, will lead the development efforts of creating and enforcing brand standards for all aspects of the business. A successful candidate will be able to drive a culture of superior customer service and operational efficiency in all GreenDrop locations as well as assisting the Director in building a model that is sustainable and can rapidly scale throughout North America.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead Operational Teams (multiple regions)
    • Supervise Regional Managers within assigned geographic areas
    • Promote brand compliance, drive consistent business practices, and above all champion first in class service both internally and externally
    • Establishes benchmarks, best practices, and brand standards in all aspects of operations
    • Responsible for ongoing evaluation and execution of GreenDrop site performance with full optimization of business processes and optimize business processes
    • Manage software development life cycle from a business user perspective including:
      • Gathering and prioritizing system enhancement requests
      • Defining and reviewing requirements
      • Performing and managing User Acceptance Testing
      • Continuing education programs to improve user adoption
      • Leverages new and existing technology to accelerate productivity and streamline operational processes
      • Responsible for achieving budget and ensuring financial targets are achieved
      • Assist is development of metrics related to key corporate and department budget goals and responsibilities
        • Develop pro-forma analyses and/or other supporting documentation to obtain executive sponsorship and capital deployment
        • Team Development
          • Continually observes, assesses, and coaches direct reports to strengthen individual and leadership capabilities
          • Provides recognition for on track performance and seeks timely solutions for off track performance
          • Responsible for developing a robust succession plan and building a solid bench
            Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

            • Possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in some combination of multi-unit management in a retail, production, operational or logistics environment
            • Proven track record of leading large dynamic teams
            • Ability to create scalable operational policies, procedures, and performance measurement
            • Ability to drive large scale projects/programs with high collaboration and leadership
            • Ability to lead a geographically distributed team
            • Develop and deliver presentations, training sessions and product demonstrations within multiple levels of the organization
            • High sense of urgency, ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task without supervision, working independently and guiding a team.
            • Ability to be detail oriented and see the "Big Picture"
            • Demonstrated ability to work under continual deadline pressure
            • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to inform, influence and interact with all levels of the organization and external customers.
            • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, CRM and BI reporting
              Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:
              • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred
              • 7+ years experience in operations management - multi unit is required
              • Project Manager Certification a plus, but not required
                Physical Requirements:
                • The ability to communicate and understand the spoken word are important as well, for example:
                • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word
                • Ability to receive detailed information visually through written communication (both physical and electronic)
                • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

                      • Travel 50%, as required by growth and business demand.
