SummaryMODs Business Development Director will be responsible for strategically growing our base of franchise & license partners domestically and abroad. This role will lead franchise partner recruitment with a focus on non-traditional and international licensing. This role will require a strong understanding of all key aspects of the restaurant business including: real estate, operations & training, marketing, technology, supply chain and finance. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning and Execution

  • Develops strategic and operational plans for MODs business development function
  • Develops and manages budgets and forecasts to ensure the business unit achieves its goals
  • Manage outreach activities and track key metrics and pipeline information
  • Provide routine sales activity reports
  • Delivers strategic business reviews including performance measures, revenue generation, site development, trend analysis, program initiatives, and strategic planning
  • Leads market planning process for Partnerships team and aligns development strategy with company-operated store development team
  • Coordinates and presents packets for MODs Real Estate Committee Franchise, Licensed, and International Store Development
    • Responsible for being highly selective in recruiting top-tier franchise, license, and international business partners
    • Negotiates master license, franchise, and development agreements
    • Develops proposals, delivers presentations, and gains consensus on terms of contracts
    • Coordinate the participation of company executives when hosting new prospective franchise, licensed, and international partners
    • Assist in updating, as necessary, the company's Franchise Disclosure Document Franchise Agreement and related document
    • Proactively develop plans and programs to generate new franchise growth opportunities through collaboration with the SVP of Partnerships
    • Work with MOD's management team, legal department, vendors, franchisees and other to ensure sales recruiting process is executed
    • Drives new store growth for licensed/franchise partners domestically and with international partners to ensure that the company meets the 5-year new store development plan goalsPeople Development and Team Building
      • Challenges and inspires members of the team to exceed business objectives
      • Ensure MOD Franchise, License and Intl Partners implement progressive hiring practices as appropriate by Partner Channel to ensure cultural alignment with MODs values
      • Provides coaching, direction, and leadership support to team members in order to achieve people, business, and customer resultsBasic Qualifications
        • 8+ years experience with multi-unit franchise organizations in restaurants
        • Bachelors degree in business or marketing preferred
        • Strong organizational, project management and communication skills
        • Prior sales, customer service, channel development experience
        • Knowledge of franchise sales processes, regulatory requirements
        • Prior experience working with franchise/ license owners
        • Strong understanding of P&L statements, and multi- unit operations
        • The position requires an ability to remain flexible and motivated, while maintaining the ability to multi-task in a fast-growing environment
        • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
        • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on a regular basis Preferred Qualifications
          • Strong working knowledge of the restaurant/ food & beverage industry
          • Good existing relationships in the industry with operators in similar brands (fast casual and casual dining)
          • Knowledge of market mapping tools and GIS mapping systems preferred
          • Knowledge of international food & beverage trends and cultural nuances in the major economies
          • Bilingual or MultilingualPhysical RequirementsOffice work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone.
