Blue Nile operates in over 45 countries today. We are looking to develop our international strategy, uncover opportunities, execute flawlessly, and turn the international business into a growth engine for Blue Nile.

The Director of International Strategy (ex. China) will report into the GM of International and serve as a key driver of international growth for Blue Nile. You will help set the vision and strategy for the international business. You think big when it comes to growing a business internationally - market prioritization, channel expansion, partnerships, launching new markets, acquisitions and capitalizing on local trends. You will partner cross-functionally to lead strategic priorities, develop financial forecasts, identify business opportunities, develop operational frameworks, and drive efficient execution.

You are a strategic self-starter with an analytical mindset. You are skilled at identifying opportunities, developing out frameworks, and working cross-functionally to drive projects to completion. You have strong business intuition and are confident in your ability to identify and prioritize needle-moving initiatives and are equally as comfortable deciding what must be deprioritized. You're a big picture thinker, intellectually curious, data-driven, and persistent in your pursuit of executional excellence. Simply put, you "make it happen".

You will work across the organization and establish relationships and influence with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the organization to mobilize initiatives. You will work closely with leadership, product, technology, marketing, and operations teams to establish Blue Nile as a compelling brand in our priority markets internationally.


  • Develop long-term growth strategies for our existing priority international markets (Canada, UK, Australia) and identify high potential markets for expansion
  • Expand the Blue Nile brand presence in key markets (GTM strategy), develop localized efforts to grow awareness, and set/measure clear KPIs for success
  • Own and present International weekly and quarterly business reviews
  • Drive step change growth internationally with a structured, data-driven approach to new investments - expand to new markets, strategic partnerships, and expansions
  • Own the customer experience Internationally - advocate across merchandising, tech, product, operations to build a stellar customer experience
  • Manage forecasting and budget allocation efforts to drive revenue and margin growth
  • Define roadmap and requirements for international report development
  • Influence the tech product roadmap to optimize customer experience internationally
  • Create the operational KPIs, OKRs and lead the ongoing management cadence that will operationalize our strategic goals
  • Focus on data driven insights to lead continuous improvements and innovations in our international top line growth
  • Mentor, coach, develop and motivate team members to understand business objectives and achieve performance goals
  • Work cross functionally to facilitate coordination with multiple teams across the organization to drive efficiency, profitability, creativity, and a superior customer experience
    • Strategic mindset with the ability to think broadly, refine questions, and develop analytical frameworks that drive to key insights and business recommendations
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
    • Strong communication and presentation skills
    • Proficiency leveraging data to develop insights (Excel, Powerpoint), advanced data analytics and report-building experience is a big plus (Tableau, SQL)
    • 2-3 years marketing experience, go-to-market or brand building experience preferred
    • Strong sense of pragmatism and business judgment to ensure insights and recommendations lead to execution, action, and impact
    • Ability to build and foster productive working relationships with cross-functional teams
    • International experience is a big plus
