Join our dynamic Human Resources team and make a difference for our internal members and our most valuable asset - our employees!The HR Director will execute the people strategy and related initiatives, ensuring the seamless delivery and integration of HR and L&D initiatives throughout the organization. The HR Director will also provide HR leadership and direction to all areas of HR, L&D, and administration including: employee engagement, recruiting, total compensation, performance management, total rewards, employee relations, and organizational design.WHAT YOU'LL DOPartner directly with the Chief People Officer as a strategic leader to define opportunities for improvement and get projects off the ground.Manage the implementation of the strategic DEIB plan. Manage and coordinate the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to inform DEIB efforts.Direct the facilitation and design of DEIB trainings and partners with HR, Corporate Affairs/ESG, and the DEIB Steering Committee for future/ongoing learning needs.Implements human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including; talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, learning and development, and EEO compliance.Review HR policies, practices, and programs, including those related to recruitment, hiring, onboarding, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and retention to ensure equity and consistency.Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values. Partner with leaders to develop manageable standards that promote efficiency and protect from risk. Lead efforts to update and maintain the handbook.Lead and direct the HR department ensuring a strong, diverse and client-focused team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, and team building.Drive HR team to execute overall organizational strategies as well as business line objectives.Develop and manage the overall budget for people-related spend across the business.Oversee total compensation planning and administration for organization.Design and implement strategies to support business goals and culture through initiatives in diversity and leadership development including training, performance management and succession planning.Oversee the development of L&D initiatives and strategies.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to diagnose issues, drawing on both professional experience and strategic thinking skills to drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative.Strong business acumen and ability to work well across different functions in order to integrate HR and business strateigies.Ability to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment.Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks while maintaining knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and legal compliance requirements.Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing, including presentation skills and effective use of listening skills.Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict.Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices or procedures to: define the problem or objective, identify patterns and relationships.Ability to understand the impact and implications of decisions and provide feedback on outcomes.Able to identify what needs to be done and takes action before being asked.Capable of mentoring, motivating and guiding others toward both individual and organization goals.Extensive knowledge of information technology, including hardware and software applications, used in the Human Resources function.High level of computer literacy to include spreadsheets, word processing and HRIS database software is required. (Ceridian experience is preferred).Ability to develop strategies through strong partnerships with peers and leadersStrong proficiency in MS Office applications and communication skills, both verbal and written.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field required. Master's degree preferred.Ten years progressive experience in Human Resources, with three to five years demonstrated success in senior role, preferably in retail or service industry.SHRM/SPHR Certification preferred.Track record of leading and developing a successful HR team.Experience assessing organizational information needs and developing plans to meet these needs.WHO WE AREThe American Automobile Association (AAA) is a federation of motor clubs across North America.
