Amazon Care is healthcare built around the patient, their life, and their schedule. Amazon Care works with Care Medical, an independent medical practice. The On Demand / Night Shift physician will take care of Amazon Care patients from 7P to 7A and on some weekends and holidays. They will supplement the Care Medical doctors, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses as they provide care for our patients. Learn more about how were making healthcare easy at As a physician on our team you will be responsible for delivering patient care virtually through video, phone, chat, text and email. You will be responsible for diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making within established standards of care, clinical practice guidelines, and Care Medical policies and procedures. The content of medical decision-making focuses on common conditions that would present within an episodic, acute-oriented primary care or urgent care medical practice.The job requires 12 nights per month. The provider must be willing and able to supervise Nurse Practioners in certain states as primary or back up as required by the business. Responsibilities:

  • Obtains histories, conducts virtual exams, documents findings, evaluates and diagnoses medical and behavioral health conditions, recommends treatment plans, constructs care plans, enlists support of other members of the team, and promotes peace of mind by investing in patient confidence.
  • Delivers patient care in high priority content areas such as behavioral health, sexual health, or care targeting a range of common chronic conditions.
  • Demonstrates flexibility by adapting as needed to change processes and practice in an evolving, ambiguous environment.

  • Communicates effectively with other providers, including using comprehensive charting and messaging.
  • Delivers patient care that balances the best that medical science has to offer; patient preferences and values; and invests in the future confidence and skills of patients. Qualifications:
    • Licensed as a physician in 30+ state licenses required > 40 preferred
    • Board Certified in family medicine or dual certified in Internal Medicine plus Pediatrics, or Emergency Medicine
    • Ability to provide verification of COVID 19 vaccination by date of hire. (medical and religious accommodation requests will be considered)
    • 2+ years of experience in family practice or primary care (preferred), or urgent care and Emergency Medicine care with experience in managing primary care conditions
    • Experience with infants under the age of 1 within the past 12 months
    • Experience working with children and families
    • Outstanding clinical expertise, evidenced based practice
    • Competent providing patient education at every visit
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Above average comfort with technology and assisting patients with troubleshooting technical difficulties that may occur in the home environment.
    • Timely and professional
    • Telemedicine or virtual care experience
    • Typing wpm > 40Physical Space Requirements
      • A work area equipped with a desk and chair, and access to properly grounded electrical outlet.
      • Work area must be secure, quiet, and isolated from others to protect PHI.
