Job Description:
Manager Nursing - Surgical Services at Providence Health and
Services summary: Senior registered nurse responsible for 24/7
operational and clinical management of surgical services/operating
room units, including staff selection, performance evaluation, CQI,
and participation in multidisciplinary committees. Requires RN with
BSN (MSN preferred), CNOR certification, BLS, 3 years OR/procedural
experience and 2 years leadership experience. Role includes
developing unit-level marketing strategies, governance
participation, and implementing performance improvement and care
delivery models within a hospital setting. Description Under the
general direction of the Director, the nurse manager assumes 24-7
accountability for the operational and patient care management of
assigned care areas. The Nurse Manager is a Registered Nurse who
has a comprehensive understanding of leadership and patient care
principles and applies those principles in evaluation of work
performance and outcome standards. The Nurse Manager exhibits
behaviors that enhance professional performance and reflect the key
moral commitment, ethical principles, values and philosophy of
PSHMC. Promotes staff productivity through a defined care delivery
system, and facilitation of the professional practice model and
governance structure. Participates in the development and
implementation of marketing strategies for their particular
service. The Nurse Manager is accountable for the selection and
evaluation process of unit staff. S/he is accountable for
integrating a performance assessment and improvement plan for the
unit/service. Applies leadership skills and CQI principles when
serving as a representative or chair on multidisciplinary
committees, and Nursing Service Councils. Providence caregivers are

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Nursing. Upon hire: Washington
Registered Nurse License Upon hire: National Provider BLS -
American Heart Association Upon hire: CNOR 3 years Experience in
Operating Room or procedural settings. 2 years Leadership

for this position will be determined based upon relevant job
