Status: Non-Exempt Approval Date: September 2021SUPERVISES: There
are no direct reports with this position. POSITION SUMMARY: Under
close supervision the Food Service Worker prepares, presents, and
serves food as needed. Employees in this job class utilizes
approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper
quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control. This
job class requires the ability to assure compliance with all
sanitation and safety requirementsTYPICAL DUTIES: 1. *Performs prep
work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and
vegetables. 2. *Weighs and measures designated ingredients. 3.
*Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations,
stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. 4.
*Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food
safety and rotation procedures. 5. *Cleans work areas, equipment
and utensils.6. *Distributes supplies, utensils and portable
equipment. 7. *Utilizes approved food recipes and production
standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and
standard portion control. 8. *Serves customers in a friendly,
efficient manner following outlined steps of service.9. *Resolves
customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
10. *Ensures compliance with company service standards and
inventory and cash control procedures. 11. *Assures compliance with
all sanitation and safety requirements. 12. Performs other duties
and special projects as assigned. * DenotesEssential Job Function
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: ---Familiarity with safe and sanitary food
handling and preparation; ---Excellent organizational, time
management and multitasking skills; ---Great collaboration and
teamwork skills; ---Effective communication skills; ---Ability to
work in a fast-paced environment.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High
School Diploma or GEDCERTIFICATES REQUIRED: The following licenses
or certificates may berequired depending on local, state and/or
contract requirements: Food Handler's PermitPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
---Ability to lift up to 50 pounds several times a day. ---Ability
to reach high and stoop low. ---Ability to work in hot and damp
environments.WORK ENVIRONMENT: Most work is primarily performed
indoors in a cafeteria setting with exposure to various background
noise which includes equipment, customers, and others
