We are looking for a Lead Technical Program Manager to join our growing hardware engineering team and be able to thrive while mentoring other TPMs, help with overall Hardware team improvements, and juggle multiple client projects and deadlines. This individual will report directly to our PMO Director, Global Consulting, and manage a growing team of four TPMs and provide coaching and guidance to ensure successful outcomes while growing, engaging, and retaining talent. This person will also personally manage client projects with at least a partial dedication to client delivery services partnering with our internal team and clients to determine the best path to ensure project success. Finally, this person will also be involved in driving direction and improvements across the Hardware Team from quoting to project delivery and internal reporting. Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and manage other TPMs in the Hardware Practice Area
  • Assess and prioritize projects and workload based on other related initiatives and strategies to allocate resources; coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of projects
  • Oversee and manage project performance of hardware portfolio by providing monitoring, controls, and risk management to achieve project outcomes (schedule, cost, scope, quality, safety & environment)
  • Enable growth through involvement with business development activities related to scope definition and the identification of objectives, risks, and exclusions, and by ensuring technical feasibility
  • Translate project deliverables into actionable and achievable "go dos" by developing a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate management methods and methodologies
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and project status reports
  • Perform project close-out and identify learning trends to improve future project outcomes
  • Provide leadership that inspires growth and development of TPMs; manage performance and conflict
  • Support PM hiring & onboarding process to PA specific processes, tools, standards, and expectations
  • Work with the PMO Director and PM Leads across Fresh to ensure reporting and Practice Area alignment.
  • Work with other Hardware Practice Area leaders on overall Practice Area direction and improvements Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or System Engineering, PM degree or related field.
    • 10+ years of experience working as a Project, Product or Program Manager in an engineering environment--
    • 3-5+ years of experience working as a people Manager in an engineering environment
    • Experienced in the Hardware consulting environment with an understanding of the consulting business model and managing client expectations
    • Experienced in managing project timelines, delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, and often ambiguous environment
    • Experience in managing, interacting with, and mentoring various engineering disciplines including: mechanical, electrical, firmware, and embedded systems
    • Experience working with online project management tools or software
    • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications:
      • 10+ years of proven work experience as a Project Manager in a hardware engineering environment
      • Experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
      • Experience in quoting and estimating projects
      • Understanding of instrumentation, automation, robotics or LabVIEW
      • Product development processes and an understanding of manufacturing processes a plus
      • Agile certification or PMP certification a plus
      • Hardware R&D experience is a plus
