People who build and leverage cross-functional relationships to bring together ideas, information, use cases, and industry analyses to develop best practices.What You Will Do As an Embedded Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing medical device software for the Emergency Care business unit at Stryker Medical You will conduct or design advanced prototyping and testing. You will conduct advanced problem solving, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against component and sub-system requirements. You will conduct and design research and studies to support advanced product design. You will translate user needs to design inputs/specifications and produce advanced component and sub-system level designs. You will analyze and correct complex product design issues, using independent judgment. You will independently balance design trade-offs while designing a component of the system. You will develop and design software systems per requirements and architecture defined. You will code development time/resource estimation to support projects. You will generate and review the necessary documents to support the project. (requirements/design/architecture/bugs/test). Business Responsibilities: You will apply in-depth knowledge of customer needs, market, and competitive offerings. You will apply detailed knowledge of clinical procedures to author design inputs. You will support "Voice of Customer" sessions internally and with clinicians. Med Device Compliance: You will be proficient with and mentor others in the usage of industry standards, including design requirements and test strategies per applicable regulations. You will lead creation and refinement of engineering documentation, such as the Design History File. You will follow and mentor others on R procedures like design controls and risk management, per the Quality Management System. What You Need Bachelor's degree in Software/Computer Engineering or related discipline required. 2+ years of related experience required. Preferred Qualifications Programming Languages: Knowledgeable programming skills in C/C++, VxWorks, QNX, RTOS, QT, Shell Scripting, Communication Protocols, Python, Linux, Windows. Design and Development Skills: Knowledgeable with integrated development environments (IDE) for projects. Knowledgeable with tools for static/dynamic analysis, memory management, code coverage, and techniques for analyzing software. Knowledge in integration and deployment processes using DevOps including source control, unit testing, and CI/CD (Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery), Perforce, Git, or similar. Software Process Skills: Software Development Life Cycle processes Knowledge in creating estimates for code implementation time/resource for assigned tasks and projects. Knowledge from using Application Lifecycle Management /Traceability tools. Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards applied to the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle). Knowledge of SDLC processes - Agile Scrum, Waterfall, Spiral. Knowledge of SW DFMEA development and a risk-based development approach. Know someone at Stryker?
