Job description
The Software Infrastructure group is looking for a Configuration
Engineer to join our Enterprise Monitoring team. As a part of this
team, you will have the opportunity to participate in the design,
development, deployment and maintenance of all aspects of the
monitoring tools used to support a Fortune 500 company's truly
global 24x7x365 operating environment.
As a Configuration Engineer on our team, you will ensure all our
development teams have the tools at their disposal to monitor
thousands of systems worldwide both on premise and in the cloud.
You will provide tools to empower those teams to be autonomous and
creative with their solutions, while ensuring that minimum
standards and capabilities are consistently met. You will be
innovative and proactive - constantly reviewing our current
processes, the needs of our customers, with an eye towards ensuring
that we are ready for the next great thing.

This position will sit in Seattle, WA. Candidates must be local or
willing to relocate.
Job requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years' experience in Systems Administration or DevOps/Operations
role
Experience with one or more industry standard monitoring tools such
as Elastic Stack (ELK), Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, DataDog,
OpsView or similar
Experienced in UNIX/LINUX scripting (PERL, Bash, Python, etc.) and
proficient in the Unix command line
Excellent verbal skills and the ability to explain technical
concepts to a variety of audiences to drive adoption of new
platforms to meet business goals
Desire to introduce tools that facilitate DevSecOps by providing
autonomy to development teams in monitoring their systems while
ensuring minimum standards are consistently met
Familiar with build and deployment tools such as Gitlab Runners,
Jenkins, Ansible, or similar
Experience with GitLab, SVN or another source control system
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with monitoring containerized applications in Azure or
GCP strongly preferred
Experience contributing to the architecture and design
(architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and
current systems as an individual contributor and technical
leader
Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
Able to formulate and implement a design strategy from a mix of
business requirements, concept documents, and verbal
descriptions
Proficient working with Virtual Machines on premise and in the
cloud
Familiar with SAFe methodologies
Strong grasp of automation tools
