SummaryMetas Remote Presence organization is looking for a Software Engineer III to help support partner integrations and quality initiatives across RP calling platforms. This effort will allow work to improve quality and reliability for our platforms without slowing down the strategic bets across the company (such as Social Audio, several FRL innovations, Messenger for Business to name a few).C++ experience required.Job Responsibilities

• Write and code supporting media transport for real-time calls in the Facebook/Meta messaging ecosystem.
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to the management system or direct others in coding descriptions.
• Modify existing databases and database management systems.
• Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
• Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish projects and tasks.Job Description Request #16201-1 - Software Engineer IIISkills
  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage ones time.
  • Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
  • Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues.
  • Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to systems, such as C/C++.Education/Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required.Nonnegotiable Must Haves

      • 2+ years of experience with SQL
      • Prior API and infrastructure experience (in terms of infrastructure is for supporting AV calls, web RTC, backend systems, and data extremes not building product infrastructure)
      • Independent execution and design

        • Prior platform, API or SDK experience
        • Experience with Javascript, PHP or Hack
        • VOIP or calling stack experienceDisqualifier
          • Lack of engineering acumen around key expectations of coding and software design
