at heart, who is comfortable flowing between various systems,
understands how computers work and how to keep them secure, is
comfortable with CLI, has written and compiled code, has developed
and documented procedures, has researched and developed use cases
or user stories.THE ROLEThe Technical Marketing Writer is part of a
cross-functional, multi-purpose team and assists with technical
research, report development, test procedure development,
documentation, and development of marketing deliverables. The
Technical Marketing Writer creates content for a wide variety of
deliverables, such as pathfinding, technical white papers, reports,
presentations, marketing and sales assets, and solution briefs.
What is pathfinding? It's a process used to develop novel,
repeatable test procedures that provide a means of measuring and
comparing performance of different systems. These procedures are
based on specific things people actually do on computers, and they
satisfy our clients' stringent acceptance criteria. Pathfinding
work eventually leads to testing, which leads to marketing content
that positions our client's products as the best of the best in a
competitive market. This role is located in Bellevue,
WA.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acquire expertise in high-tech subjects and transfer that
expertise to written and graphical deliverables in collaboration
with engineers and designers.
- Support the execution of pathfinding work, primarily by
conducting research to identify potential areas of interest,
developing relevant use cases to guide experiment development, then
going on to assist with experiment development, running
experiments, documenting findings, developing insights from the
findings, and presenting findings and issues to the client during
live meetings.
- Use tools such as Excel to calculate scores and performance
deltas. Write summaries on the test status as needed. Report issues
and recommend workarounds or alternate solutions, as relevant.
- Deliver drafts on time according to a schedule you help to
define.
- Seek out help early and often when learning new skills and
leverage the experience and expertise of existing team members to
speed up learning and decrease errors and reworking.QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of experience developing B2B and B2C content, and as
needed, messaging and positioning.
- An advanced understanding of how consumer computers work; for
example, you can articulate the differences and relationships
between CPUs, GPUs, memory, and storage and what kinds of variables
will impact the performance of each component.
- Experience working with a variety of systems, including but not
limited to PC laptops, Chromebooks, Apple hardware, mobile devices,
as well as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe.
- Strong attention to detail, stellar organizational skills and
can move work ahead even where there is some ambiguity.
- Stellar communication skills: Your tendency is to ask for
guidance and support rather than make a decision and hope it is
right. You ask questions early and often.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a constantly changing
environment, prioritize multiple tasks, work under minimal/remote
supervision and provide frequent status updates while juggling
multiple projects.
- Ability to present yourself well and diplomatically in
client-facing conversations and work tirelessly to satisfy even
difficult clients.
- Agency experience a plus.
- A Bachelor's degree in a language arts or technical field, or
equivalent work experience. Journalism training and/or experience a
strong plus.
- Experience with building your own computer, hardware and
software automated testing, benchmarking, or overclocking is a
