Job Title: Corporate Counsel (IP and contents review -
game/animation)
Job Summary: The Legal Department of The Pok--mon Company
International, Inc. (TPCi) has an immediate opening for an attorney
with experience in the entertainment area involving copyright,
trademark, privacy, and marketing laws. This person will have
significant day-to-day interaction with the localization/video game
development and media production teams and will play a critical
role in facilitating game reviewing and animation contents review.
The work will eventually take place onsite in Bellevue, WA.

What you'll do
- Providing strategic legal advice on content review in various
products and services including animation and video games.
- Conducting copyright and trademark clearance in video games
review and related marketing materials, animation review, and
music.
- Review and advise on defamation, privacy, copyright,
right-of-publicity, and trademark issues in animation
content.
- Collaborate with other in-house counsels to provide strategic
legal advice in relation to gambling and privacy related
laws.
- Collaborate with affiliated companies or business partners
regarding IP licenses for global distribution of Pok--mon games
worldwide.
- Review and maintain knowledge of ongoing regulatory
developments, including privacy and gambling related laws.
- Communicate with various stakeholders and business partners,
including Japanese stakeholders and parent company.
What you'll bring
- 3+ years of legal practice in entertainment/video game industry
or equivalent experience.
- Experience conducting copyright and trademark
clearance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of intellectual property law.
- Demonstrated basic knowledge of data privacy regulations and
practices.
- Experience reviewing video games including online games and app
games (preferred)
- Experience with children's entertainment and/or digital
entertainment platforms (preferred).
- Non-English language (especially Japanese) skills
(preferred).
- Ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience handling a
variety of assignments, balance priorities and meet deadlines in a
fast-paced environment; and working collaboratively within a legal
team and with client groups to streamline business process.

- This role is currently remote but will move to a hybrid work
model (office in Bellevue, WA)
