THE ROLE:

AMD Research seeks a Systems Architecture Researcher.In this role, you will drive the development of hardware features, advanced memory systems, algorithms and software into a heterogeneous, scaled-out environment that utilizes a variety of accelerator technologies including GPUs and FPGAs on AMD's best-in-class hardware and software.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate current and near-term architectures to find bottlenecks and limitations

Propose novel solutions to the discovered limits

Build and run simulations to evaluate the solutions using sophisticated benchmarks. Study the performance, complexity, and power implications of the solutions. Balance hardware and software to maximize the system benefits.

Advocate the best solutions with research colleagues and with development teams.

Protect the inventions with patents. Spread the knowledge with publications.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Software and system knowledge, including artificial intelligence and machine learning

CPU or GPU architecture (understanding, use, performance modeling, analysis, power)

Simulation experience (use, build, modify) and analytical models

CPU & parallel GPU programming

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

A PhD degree or equivalent accomplishments in Computer Science, Electric/Computer Engineering, or related field

A record of publications and patents

LOCATION:
