What you will do:

Our Senior Systems Engineering consultants are experts in complex product and system development with skills in systems engineering, technical project management, and team leadership. They are proactive self-starters who and can orient to new situations quickly and apply logical problem-solving skills to address customers' most challenging issues. Successful Base2 Systems Engineering consultants typically have a foundation in systems design and have extensive experience in most phases of the product development life cycle.

The nature of our systems engineering work and assignments vary depending on the specific customer engagements; our immediate needs are in the areas of program management, software development management, and Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) planning automation, and cross-functional leadership in industries such as commercial space and aviation.

What you will be responsible for:

Contribute and add value to client projects in the areas of requirements analysis, definition, decomposition, traceability and management; system architecture and design; system integration, system verification and validation; technical program management, cross-functional leadership, technical issue resolution, or product management
Use systems engineering principles to develop an approach tailored to the need, the system, the customer, and the development organization
Develop and nurture long term customer relationships
Recognize client needs that may lead to additional opportunities for Base2
Keep abreast of current and new methods, technologies, and tools related to your field (e.g. Agile development methods, Model-Based Systems Engineering, etc.)

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related scientific degree
8+ years systems engineering experience, including:
System requirements (definition, decomposition, traceability, & management)
System verification & validation (planning, execution, artifact development)
MRO systems planning
Program management and software development management
Ability to travel locally between Base2 and client site (will change based on customer, local, and federal guidelines related to COVID-19)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in regulated industries (e.g. aerospace, defense, medical device)
Experience with regulated software development standards such as DO-178
Experience with Agile development method
Experience using requirements management tools (DOORS, etc)
Aptitude to work collaboratively and drive consensus and alignment within and across organizational boundaries
Ability to influence executives, key decision-makers, and highly technical resources
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work onsite at client facilities
Master's Degree in engineering, the Sciences, or Business Administration
