Direct Technology is searching for a Service Desk Manager to lead our IT Managed Services offering. At Direct Technology, we understand that people drive technology, not the other way around. That's why we focus on serving the human side of tech.Description:The DT-IT Service Desk provides an important role for our customers, it serves as the primary contact for all IT related issues. The service desk is responsible for effectively exceeding customer expectations, setting the organizational standard for customer engagement, serving as a communication channel between our customers and Direct Technology, and, whenever possible, providing a first-contact resolution for customers.The service desk is responsible for identifying and pursuing service improvement initiatives; managing complaints, suggestions, and compliments; and serves as the face, or the voice, of the Direct Technology to our customers. You will be charged with building a strong, healthy team that is consistent; committed to quality and regular quality improvements.You will be viewed throughout the organization as an important component of the Direct Technology team and are expected to be committed to utilizing and responding to employee satisfaction metrics and aware of the importance of utilizing regular performance metrics. The service desk supervisor needs to offer tangible and, whenever possible, data-driven suggestions on ways that IT services can improve.Responsibilities:The first and primary responsibility of the service desk supervisor is to meet targets and expectations for customer service and support performance.* Effectively manage, develop, and train the service desk team.* Ensuring that all processes used by the service desk are thoroughly documented, consistently audited, and regularly improved.* Conducting and sharing results from service and operation performance reviews.* Promoting the service desk with senior management and working to ensure that it is properly viewed as a core business asset.* Coordinating and managing all relevant stakeholders, including the support desk team, customers, and other teams that are involved in service desk operations.* Being aware of and managing the costs of running the service desks.* Oversees IT operations for entire department* Leads team of IT staff for all 3 office locations as well as various client sites* Leads sales team* Coordinates and interacts with other divisions in the company* Designs and implements IT strategies and infrastructure* Identifies and eliminates security risks* Coordinates operational, process, and security audits and reviews* Analyzes business requirements for IT needs and systems* Works to increase user satisfaction* Evaluates IT operations with regard to established goals.* Assesses need for new equipment and software.* Prepares progress and budget reports for upper management.* Hires new members of IT staff* Builds and maintains relationships with outside vendors* Manages company service desk* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.* Responsible for annual sales and financial planning.* Presents results and manages progress under the guidance of the CEO and the Board of Directors* Works with other divisions and companies to pursue business opportunities* Performs assessments of potential acquisitions* Responsible for contract administration and compliance for engagementsQualifications/Skills:This role is responsible for managing daily operations of the service desk, supervising the service desk team, representing the team to other stakeholders, and helping to ensure that the service desk is constantly developing and improving. To meet these many demands, a good service desk manager must have:* The ability to coach and develop a team.* Ability to balance and plan the short-term actions of the team.* Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry standards.* Strong communication skills, including the ability to be influential and persuasive with stakeholders.* Ability advocate for necessary resources and support* Ability to think critically about systems and to make adjustments* Ability to manage time effectively while setting the tone of the team* 5+ years' experience working in IT operations* Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, and storage systems* Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects* Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills* Team oriented with proven ability to effectively lead on-site and remotely* Prior experience working at a Manage Service Provider is a huge plusEducation, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in information technology, information systems, computer science or related field* Certifications and continuing education preferredAbout usDirect Technology, founded in 1995, is one of the largest privately Veteran owned and operated custom software development firms on the West Coast, headquartered in Roseville, CA with additional offices in Bellevue, WA and Plano, TX.
