As Chief of Staff at Company, you'll primarily work on high-impact cross-functional projects for the CEO, VP of Strategy and Growth, or potentially other Leadership Team Members. You will also have the opportunity to work on strategy and growth initiatives, particularly those relating to incubating new ventures. Assuming you over-deliver in this role, there will be a clear path to a general management/people management role at Company. This role is ideally suited for an out-performing analyst/associate with experience managing cross-functional projects at a consultancy company (e.g., Accenture, Deloitte, PWC, McKinsey, BCG) or in-house in internal consulting-type roles (e.g., as a Chief of Staff, or on a team focused on program/project management, strategic initiatives, business operations) looking to leverage their getting-things-done skills into a role with significant and immediate impact. What you'll do on a day-to-day basis Reporting directly into our VP of Strategy and Growth this multifaceted role encompasses:

• Getting Things Done.--Your primary objective on a day-to-day basis will be to manage high-impact cross-functional projects: building and prioritizing business cases, defining the project, creating a plan, kicking them off, keeping everyone on track and informed, navigating obstacles, delivering on time.
• High-impact Optimization.--Our business moves quickly. You'll be identifying needle-moving optimization opportunities and then working with teams across our business to ensure they are implemented quickly and efficiently.
• Strategic Planning.--You'll build out and help run our strategic planning process to ensure that we are on course to deliver our strategies and achieve our ambitious goals.
• New Ventures.--This isn't just your typical strategy role; you'll also get the opportunity to build the new ventures that are incubating within the Strategy and Growth team.
• Corporate Development.--We are looking to make acquisitions and you'll be helping to make that happen, from deal sourcing to the close.
• Project Management Capability-Building.--You'll be on point for making sure that we build best practice skills in efficient and effective cross-functional collaboration, leading by example, but also helping others build the hard and soft skills required to get things done. To succeed in this job, you'll need
  • World-class Project Management Skills.--You will have at least two years of experience in a management consulting firm (e.g., Deloitte, Accenture, PWC, McKinsey, Bain, BCG) or in an in-house "consulting-type" role where you have driven cross-functional initiatives to successful conclusion. The Strategy and Growth team doesn't let its analysis gather dust on a shelf. We implement. So, you'll need excellent project management skills to ensure that our recommendations are implemented across the business and deliver the results that you promised.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: listening as well as talking and writing. You will be working closely with the Leadership Team and need to voice your own, fresh perspectives in the discussions. We don't do "death by PowerPoint" but you need to be able to articulate business cases and plans of action in a clear, pithy and compelling way.
  • Proven Execution Skills.--The Strategy and Growth team incubates our high-potential new business ventures until they're ready to fly the nest and become part of our main operating business. It's harder to start a new business idea than grow an existing one, so you need to be a savvy operator with the tenacity to overcome obstacles, break down walls and make things happen.
  • Excellent Prioritization Skills.--There is a lot to do, so you'll need to focus your time on the things that will make the most impact.
  • A Hypothesis-driven, Analytic Approach.--We don't just "do stuff". You'll need to be an expert at developing hypotheses, testing them and deciding what to do based on rigorous analysis of the data.
  • An Eye for Detail.--While you'll be involved in strategy work, for this role, the devil's in the details, whether those details relate to paid advertising or social media or organic content or product testing. You'll need to lasso everything together and make sure it all happens in the right sequence and timeframe.
  • The Willingness to Roll Up your Sleeves. We're a "get stuff done" place, so if something needs doing, it's all hands to the wheel.

      • You'll be reporting directly to the VP of Strategy and Growth. Expectations are high!
      • We have an office in Bellevue, WA but everyone has been working remotely since March. Once it is safe to do so, everyone will have the opportunity to work in the office if they choose or to continue to work remotely.
