Job Description Who we are: We are revolutionizing the way people access water outdoors. Aquor Water Systems is a Seattle-based manufacturer of innovative water connections for residential, commercial, and marine applications. Founded in 2014 by recent University of Washington alumni, our award-winning products have been featured in publications like This Old House, Popular Mechanics, the NBC Today Show, and INC. Magazine. We are proud to have been awarded the Best Outdoor Living Product Award by the National Association of Homebuilders. Our customers include high-end architects, homebuilders, plumbers, yacht builders, and more. Our flagship product is the House Hydrant, an outdoor faucet system for residential homes, allowing users to simply plug in their garden hose under full pressure. What we're looking for: Aquor is looking for a talented individual who can help us design and engineer new products. This includes designing mechanical parts and assemblies for manufacture. You should be able to ensure product designs are best-in-class and help drive adoption of cutting-edge technologies, materials and process. The ideal person is knowledgeable of the fundamental material properties of various polymers (eg. acetal resin, reinforced nylon) as well as metals (316L stainless steel). You should be a practicing mechanical engineer and have expertise in both tolerance analysis and CAD design. You understand how to bring an idea to design, and a design to production. This position will work directly with our CEO and manufacturing facility. We are looking for an individual who wants to take ownership in developing our product lines all the way through execution. We are a small but growing team, so this position requires a versatile skillset. The ideal candidate will be able to handle a wide range of responsibilities to support our product development efforts. What you'll do: Design and develop new Aquor products. Own the engineering activities for a major assembly or entire product. Take a concept through the entire product lifecycle, from definition and creation, through design, production, and improvements. Implement sound engineering processes and systematic approaches, while solving design and manufacturing challenges. Serve as a resident expert in effective engineering and design for manufacture processes. Contribute to the creation of technical specifications and product definition. Engineer parts and mechanisms that retain design intent and function according to specs. Test and evaluate design components for manufacturability and structural integrity. Coordinate with manufacturing experts to optimize part design and production processes, including assembly line set-up. Support production throughout the manufacturing process to realize your designs. Collaborate with designers and other engineering disciplines to identify challenges and offer solutions. Skills you may have: BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience 2+ years of experience in 3D modeling in Unigraphics NX or Solidworks Human Factors design experience Knowledgeable in mechanical fundamentals Manufacturing knowledge and experience, specifically with plastic injection molding and metal casting Experience building part and assembly prototypes in the shop What we'd like to see: Resume Brief cover letter A portfolio or example work We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
