The Un-carrier seeks a highly motivated, hardworking attorney to oversee its cyber threat compliance program. Cybersecurity and cyber threats are some of the highest and most impactful risks to enterprises today; active oversight and proactive mitigation of those risks is critical to ensuring T-Mobile avoids impacts to its customers and brand. The Director, Cyber Threat & Incident Response ensures enterprise-wide compliance with a broad variety of regulations impacting the cybersecurity of our wireless, wireline and IT networks and partners closely with cybersecurity professionals to provide legal guidance for the enterprise-wide response to network and infrastructure threats and incidents. This leader also develops and leads strategic compliance initiatives to reduce or mitigate enterprise-impacting cyber threat risk. A successful candidate will be ready to jump into action, working closely with business partners to provide practical, strategic legal guidance and design and implement creative solutions to complex challenges.

You'll bring a solution-oriented attitude, a bias for action, the sophistication to interact with client teams at all levels, and a deep curiosity that drives you to dive into and help solve complex issues. The ideal candidate will also have some or all of the following:

  • JD with at least 10 years of experience in relevant practice areas
  • Fluency and facility with cyber risks and remediation, including NIST and other cyber risk management frameworks
  • Passion for mitigating risk in the ever-evolving worlds of ISPs, network technology, telecommunications and IT infrastructures
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-makers and guide solutions
  • Appetite for innovation and aptitude for creative problem-solving
  • Deep curiosity with a drive to get accurate and complete information to drive informed decision-making
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong people management and motivational skills
  • Keen strategic, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a tenacious, highly motivated self-starter able to multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional or other related advanced certifications (CISA, CISM, CCEP) or relevant experience or certifications

As Director, Cyber Threat & Incident Response you will design and implement compliance programs and oversee incident response through partnership and collaboration with business clients and other legal specialists. You will ensure enterprise-wide compliance with regulatory requirements applicable to the 24/7 protection of T-Mobile's nationwide wireless, wireline and IT networks, and oversee incident response and breach reporting. You will also lead a team that partners closely with company Chief Security and Chief Technology Officers and their teams, among others, to ensure that network and IT protection strategies are appropriately considered and adopted across the enterprise. In addition, you will provide strategic compliance guidance on emerging T-Mobile products and services, influencing the design of those products and services to ensure compliance with applicable cyberthreat and infrastructure security laws and best practices. Finally, you will enhance and design new compliance processes and procedures to ensure ongoing operational compliance (frequently in novel areas of the business).
