Description **DSHS Customer Service Specialist 2 ** Are you ready to put customer service skills to work? We need your talent and enthusiasm to provide customer service support and assistance. Economic Services Administration is looking for a customer service professional to join our King Eastside Bellevue Community Service Office as part of our hard-working team. In this fast-paced environment, you will provide customers, the public, and other agencies with general program information of public assistance and the steps to receiving agency services. Join us in Transforming Lives! **Work duties will be performed in an office environment; currently teleworking is not an option. Employees reporting to an office building are required to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines and protocols.** **Duties include**: * Issuing electronic benefits, advise how to access and use benefits * Monitoring office equipment and ensuring it is in good repair * Processing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail * Maintaining the security of and accurate tracking in the handling of negotiables * Providing office support for Financial and Social Service workers * Ensuring electronic and paper files are organized and updated * Respond to inquiries and resolve problems **We're looking for professionals with:** * An associate's degree and two years of clerical experience providing assistance to customers regarding inquiries, complaints, or problems; **OR** * A bachelor's degree; **OR** * Equivalent clerical experience providing assistance to customers regarding inquiries, complaints, or problems. **AND** * Strong oral and written communication skills * Excellent customer service skills * Experience with a multi-line phone system * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others * Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications * Ability to successfully multitask and manage competing priorities * Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes **Please include the following:** * Current chronological resume * Cover letter explaining why you are interested in the job, describing your skills, and experience that makes you the best person for the job * Three professional references with current contact information **Questions about the application process? **Contact Sharon Sterling via email at stlg300@dshs.wa.gov and reference job number 03191.
