The Information Management & Strategy team has a cross-enterprise charter which focuses on data management activities related to Salesforce Digital Transformation, Data Management Maturity, Customer Trust, proactive compliance, Data Handling, and Data Governance. The team's mission is to enable the right data, at the right time and with the right controls through best in class Data Management, while also ensuring data is high quality, discoverable and available.

This role will influence and support an enterprise-wide Data Governance program. Data is a first-class citizen in the 4th Industrial Revolution, and Enterprise Data Governance drives alignment, accountability, innovation, scalability, and trust across the company. In this role, you will manage all aspects of data governance based on a hub-and-spoke engagement model, with a focus on customer usage data. You will drive implementation of enterprise data policies and standards, participate in governance council meetings and working groups, develop and monitor data governance KPIs, and communicate with stakeholders in multiple lines of business.

In addition, this role will partner with Technology and Product, Legal, Trust, Business Technology, Finance and other key stakeholders to support customer data-related initiatives.

Responsibilities

+ Work with stakeholders to facilitate alignment, data ownership and stewardship, and implement common data management practices

+ Manage processes with Technology & Product, Legal and Trust for approving data usage and activation inside Salesforce and with partners

+ Provide guidance on how to best apply data governance for privacy and compliance where capturing new data

+ Support and integrate with teams to chart the path to data management maturity

+ Lead efforts to implement data classification framework

+ Enable data teams to implement best practices for documenting data sets, data lineage, and other key areas of data management maturity

+ Communicate through reports, scorecards, and dashboards that are easily consumable and used to make informed business decisions

Job Requirements

+ Requires relevant BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in data governance - relevant MA/MS or MBA a plus

+ Significant knowledge and at least 7 years experience in all or a combination of the following: data governance, compliance, controls testing/monitoring

+ Ability to lead various data initiatives and have a customer-focused mindset

+ Capability to be agile, proactive, comfortable working with ambiguous specifications, think outside the box to come up with innovative solutions to complex problems

+ Effectively motivate people, instill accountability and demonstrate the value of data across a wide range of individuals including engineers, systems administrators, executives, customers, regulators, auditors, etc.

+ Convey a self-motivated, pragmatic and get-it-done attitude

+ Familiarity with the CMMI Institute Data Management Maturity (DMM) Framework is a plus

+ Hands-on Salesforce.com knowledge of product and functionality is a plus
