The Corporate Counsel will play an integral role in the Legal Department's mandate to support ongoing compliance with T-Mobile's merger commitments and obligations. The role will analyze the company's merger commitments and support the execution of the internal merger compliance and controls program. A successful candidate will be ready to jump into action, working closely with compliance and business partners to provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice to build and implement creative compliance solutions.

  • Juris Doctor from accredited university and admission to at least one state bar is required.
  • Approximately 3-5 years' experience as an attorney at a law firm, in-house, government agency, or similar professional setting focused on corporate or regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity or experience in one or more of the following areas: development of compliance policies, procedures and trainings; state or federal regulatory requirements; corporate governance and internal controls; and product compliance.
  • Proven experience with identifying and resolving questions about compliance requirements, and working with SMEs/management to develop and implement practical solutions.
  • Proven ability to work independently, balance multiple priorities, adapt to a constantly changing business strategies, drive projects to completion, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including business process and externally-facing documentation, and executive-level presentations.
  • Keen business sense - strong judgment, analytical, risk assessment, negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Strong Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Location:

The team you will joining is located in Bellevue, Washington and Washington, D.C./Northern Virginia. Job location in one of these areas is required.

As a Corporate Counsel, you will be an integral part of our legal compliance team. You will:

  • Support senior attorneys on the administration, evolution, and implementation of the merger compliance programs through partnership and collaboration with business clients and other legal, government affairs, and compliance experts.
  • Act as subject matter expert for internal business clients to ensure business processes, information access controls, compliance evidence, and internal controls across the company appropriately address merger compliance requirements and commitments;
  • Counsel and advise a variety of business units and teams on complex compliance and legal matters, including Transition Services, Wholesale, Network Engineering, Emerging Products, Procurement, and Diversity & Inclusion.
  • Engage and work with outside counsel to provide the best advice to the business on relevant compliance issues.
  • Build relationships with business and technical teams to understand their needs and project roadmaps to operationalize the longer-term merger commitments.
  • Translate complex compliance requirements into operational processes and compliance controls, and articulate and document compliance requirements to business stakeholders.
  • Deliver easy to understand written advice and training to legal and business colleagues on merger compliance requirements and internal controls.
  • Periodically report to Leadership on the status of commitment deadlines.
  • Partner with legal, government affairs, and business representatives to develop formal filings and responses to regulatory agencies concerning ongoing compliance.
