Job Description:

This position is responsible for managing transportation and logistics relationships with a small parcel carrier. They will work with key operations parties both internal and external to T-Mobile.

Act as a vendor manager to transportation carriers - ensure compliance of operational SOPs, validate pricing, manage claims processing and asset recovery. In addition, work with contract team to negotiate contracts and pricing, ensure compliance, and regularly validate current carrier pricing with market rates. Develop and maintain key performance and quality measures for the Distribution Center and transportation carriers. Provide transportation and logistics expertise to internal and external teams for large scale project work and logistics driven cost savings and operational efficiency opportunities. Review and enforce contractual terms and service level expectations

Lead logistic initiatives and ad-hoc projects. Represent vendor management team in communications with internal teams. Proactively lead resolution of operational and functional issues.

At least 18 years of ageLegally authorized to work in the United StatesHigh School Diploma or GED

  • 2-4 years vendor management or logistics and transportation background - demonstrated leadership skills in these areas
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills needed to identify and resolve issues
  • In depth knowledge of transportation carrier operations, regulations, practices and procedures for small parcel carrier is required
  • Experienced in MS Office programs, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Experience and proven record of working on multiple tasks/projects under tight time constraints; ability to communicate effectively among various levels of management; and ability to organize and establish priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain solid working relationships with all levels of personnel both internal and external to T-Mobile
  • Excellent negotiation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Wireless industry experience - desired
  • Understanding of Reverse Logistics operations and/or supply chain and quality management concepts - desired
  • SAP experience - desired
  • Supply chain management strategies - desired
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL) is desired

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, business operations or equivalent

Travel:

Up to 10%

  • Manage contractual terms and service level expectations
  • Collaborate with procurement team to negotiate contracts and pricing
  • Develop, document and communicate new processes as needed
  • Create, manage, and review carrier metrics to ensure compliance
  • Identify and drive process improvements that will improve SLA, lower costs, and/or improve quality
  • Develop, direct and manage effective and economical logistics policies, procedures and operating standards by providing guidance in balancing cost/service relationships
  • Develop and manage logistical methods and or carriers to increase the level of service and or decrease cost
  • Drive and facilitate activities that improve coordination and communication within the transportation department and other departments throughout the company
  • Manage compliance with all transportation and logistics regulatory agencies relating to the shipment, receipt and storage of any materials or finished goods
  • Manage compliance and quality at the forward and reverse Distribution Centers by partnering with the 3PL Vendor Managers
