The Microsoft Search, Assistance and Intelligence (MSAI) team is responsible for enabling intelligence in Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Bing, and Microsoft Assistant. The graph intelligence team within MSAI is looking for motivated individuals to bring to life state of the art graph learning, natural language processing and machine learning technologies to personalize search and recommendations for a host of delightful and powerful user experiences aimed at improving everyday productivity of every Office 365 user and organization.Every single email, chat, document, meeting, search, or any interaction users have with office canvases can be modelled in a knowledge graph. We strive to build intelligence assistive and personalized to Office 365 users by deep understanding of the user and tenant specific knowledge graphs, while strictly guaranteeing Microsoft's promise to customer privacy, compliance, and trust. Working in the team, you have the potential to define the future of personalized recommendations for hundreds of millions of Office 365 users. Today, Office 365 has close to 300 Million+ monthly active users, plus the partnership with third party, presents a huge opportunity to engage users with content worldwide.We are seeking candidates with strong backgrounds in machine learning, information retrieval, and user modeling.If you have a strong curiosity about data, researching interesting problems around knowledge mining, natural language processing, relevance experimentation, user understanding and a dedication to trustworthiness of results, then you will be interested in us.As a member of our team your contribution would include high performance code and models to serve intelligent solutions on our distributed systems operating at the scale of exabytes of data.We value and encourage diversity and an inclusive work environment in the belief that it leads to both great workplaces and great products.**Responsibilities**+ Working with a team of researchers, applied scientists and engineers, you will be responsible for all stages of the research & development cycle including early ideation, design, implementation & scaling of models and associated code.+ Analyzing real world data and proposing novel solutions to user challenges.+ Implementing pipelines to prepare and learning from real world data.+ Designing crowdsourcing pipelines for collecting reliable and unbiased data for experimentation.+ Developing, refining, and evaluating online and offline product metrics.+ Monitoring key product metrics and understanding root causes of changes.**Qualifications**+ Bachelor's orMaster'sdegree with a background in Graph Neural Networks, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval or Recommendation Systems+ 2+ years of professional experience.We welcome prior experience with all programming languages but prefer Python, C#, Java, C++ or C.+ 2+ years of professional experience working with Distributed systems like Spark, Hadoop etc.+ 2+ years of professional experience with statistical data analysis.+ Grounded in a growth mindset, advocate for inclusion and diversity, and strong self-awareness.**Preferred:**+ Experience with Graph Neural Networks, Recommendation Systems+ A PhD, in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or related subjects+ Strong theory/algorithmic background and good understanding on how to apply advanced knowledge to solve real problems.+ Publications in top tier ML/IR/NLP/HCI applied science conferences such as RecSys, KDD, WWW, SIGIR, EMNLP, CHI, NIPS, ICML.+ Superior verbal, visual and written communication skillsMicrosoft is an equal opportunity employer.
