DescriptionWithout direction and in accordance with defined policies and procedures, the Personal Protection Specialist carries out personal protective service assignments to ensure the safety and protect from harm senior executives, their families, and other VIPs as well as provides supervisory and leadership guidance to a protective teamDutiesProvide protective services as assignedProvide static post coverage as assignedConduct security advancesTravel with key executives in accordance with TSA ASO guidelinesConduct investigations related to clients' needsDevelop and deliver special event security plansResponsibilitiesProtection:Carries out personal protection assignments in accordance with defined policies and procedures. Duties of assignments may include air travel on commercial and private aircraft, static post coverage and response to crisis, planning for protective operations, administration, security advances, physical security escorts, coordination of ground transportation, medical assistance, and other duties asAs assigned, carries out tasks associated with advanced planning for visits by VIPs, including elements related to threat assessments, transportation planning, and medical or safetyHelps to identify threats to individuals and coordinates with leadership to take necessary countermeasures to ensure safety of principal personnel.Liaisons with corporate staff to enhance a culture of security and awareness through training and briefings for staff on security practicesCoordinate's collection and dissemination of threat intelligenceParticipates in special event planning meetings and prepares security plans for eventsProvides necessary security support for special eventsAs assigned, coordinates with local security, law enforcement, or others to assess the safety of areas prior to the arrival of protectee(s).Inspects and reports the condition of security and safety programs to include fire extinguishers, CCTV, access control, intrusion detection and lighting systems.InvestigationsSupport investigative activities associated with persons or groups of concern impacting protected persons and the organizationCollaborate with protective intelligence functions to coordinate investigative effortsEngage with threat assessors as necessaryGeneralSubmit timesheets and expense reports in a timely fashionComplete all assigned administrative duties as requestedAttend all required initial and retraining programs as requiredMaintain necessary licenses as requiredSubmits changes to post orders to leadershipOther duties as assignedSkills SetsDemonstrates an ability to carry out instructions and work with limited supervision.Demonstrates an ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with executive security staff, clients, principal personnel, and a diverse population.Demonstrates high ethical standards and honesty and a professional and pleasant demeanor.Capable of interacting with contract security, event planners, vendors, law enforcement, and others as may be necessary for the completion of assigned duties.Demonstrates an ability to follow direction, complete tasks as assigned, and provide sound judgment in the carrying out of protective details.Demonstrates a clear understanding of the principles, duties, and requirements of executive protection assignments.Experience RequirementsSuitable candidate must possess a current Armed Security Officer (ASO) Transportation Security Administration (TSA) credential or be able to obtain one based on previous experience. 10 years of related experience in security services, military or law enforcement or suitable equivalent education plus 2 years of experience specific to executive protectionGeneral RequirementsJob may require standing, sitting, moving for extended periods of time. Exposure to extreme environmental conditions occurs occasionally. Individual will be required to travel.
