Job Description:

Duties: Serve as a subject matter expert on the latest software architecture, UI technology, solution, and market trends as well as competitive offerings related to cloud security and compliance posture management. Collaborate with product management and engineering partners to identify and articulate product vision and goals. Drive user research initiatives to talk directly with customers and users to understand their needs, goals, and motivations. Conceptualize and define an end-to-end design strategy that supports customer needs and business goals. Ideate detailed stories and user flows illustrating the appropriate solution. Collaborate with a geographically diverse design team to co-design while ensuring consistency across the suite of products and services. Advocate for user needs throughout the development lifecycle in an Agile, iterative environment to ensure problem-solution fit. Verify and improve on designs through reviews, validation, and formal usability testing with end-users.Requirements: Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Human Centered Design and Engineering, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or a related technical field and three (3) years of experience in job offered or related position. In the alternative, employer will accept Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Human Centered Design and Engineering, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or a related technical field and five (5) years of experience in job offered or related position.Employer requires least six (6) of the following skills gained through industry experience:

  • End-to-end user workflows;
  • Interaction design skills including wireframing, paper prototyping, UI mockups, and high-definition interactive prototypes;
  • User-centered design processes involving user needs via research, ideation, and validation of software design concepts;
  • Designing enterprise software and large-scale web-based applications using Agile software development methodologies;
  • Hands-on design skills on software including Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suits, HTML;
  • Designing usable, accessible, and engaging user experiences for complex web-based applications on research and best practices;
  • Creating user journeys, user personas, and translating user insights into tangible UX artifacts;
  • Building storyboards to conceptualize designs to accurately convey project plans to clients and senior management.*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from this VMware office in Bellevue, WA.
