Salary is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and employment status.Shift: Monday FridayPosition SummaryAs an Insurance Authorization Specialist, you will play a key role in creating a smooth and efficient experience for our patients by processing insurance verifications and securing pre-authorizations. Youll collaborate closely with referring providers, internal departments, and insurance companies to ensure all required documentation is accurate and submitted on time.Strong communication skills are essential for promptly processing authorizations and resolving any issues that may arise. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of insurance requirements and a keen attention to detail to support an optimal patient experience. Identify appropriate insured, policy, group, and billing addresses for primary, secondary, and tertiary insurances. Apply MSP (Managed Service Provider), ABN (Advanced Beneficiary Notice), and COB (Coordination of Benefits) rules for each payer, when applicable, in addition to performing ICD-10 coding.Communicate updates and changes regarding insurance verification and pre-authorization requirements to patients and key internal/external stakeholders.Accurately document information in patient accounts and records.Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills when interacting with internal and external customers.Identify issues and communicate them to the supervisor, offering solutions as appropriate.Participate on Radia teams, as needed.Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule to meet organizational needs.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesWorking knowledge of health insurance, ICD-10, and CPT codingUnderstanding of medical terminologyStrong computer skillsExcellent customer service abilitiesAbility to work effectively as part of a teamEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious medical office experience preferred12 years of experience working as an insurance verifier preferredCOVID-19 Vaccination PolicyTo protect physicians, employees, and patients from contracting COVID-19 and to help prevent its spread, Radia requires all healthcare setting workers to receive a COVID-19 vaccination, subject to applicable exemptions.
