Here's more of what you will get to do: Risk Operations Analysts, test, analyze, monitor, and optimize for certain types of activity on OfferUp. This role requires strong attention to detail, strong work ethic and drive, the ability to manage large and complex rule sets, the ability to recommend solutions to various problems and excellent communication skills and follow up.--
  • Own analysis of rule sets of moderate to high complexity, primarily related to listing, selling and payment activities
  • Innovate in creating new ways to create, optimize, maintain, and organize rules
  • Find trends, correlation, and patterns in complicated datasets
  • Innovate and implement new ways to countermeasure risk behavior by optimizing, maintaining, and organizing risk tools that may block or restrict questionable activity
  • Stay current on new trends and strategies by creating and analyzing weekly reports, engaging with stakeholders, and conducting ad hoc statistical analysis
  • Be responsible for maintaining OfferUp's policies, adapting to frequent changes and ambiguous or emerging subject matter as needed
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to keep questionable selling & buying activity at manageable levels
  • Lead moderate complexity projects including collaboration with business unit and product management
  • Train and support downstream teams as well as assisting their peers--

    • Metrics and Data-Driven Decision Making
      • Has proven analytical skills and is able to define & clearly articulate success by metrics and data-driven measurements.
      • The ideal candidate will have SQL, and other data visualization experience.
      • Knowledge of scripting languages (i.e. Python, R) is ideal but not essential.
      • Willingness to learn new tools and languages
      • Strong Communication Skills
        • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and leadership skills.
        • Ability to influence and work with others.
