Job Description:

Peter Pan Seafood Company, LLC., a newly formed Company in the Alaskan Seafood industry is looking for individuals interested in getting in on the ground floor of an employee friendly organization. We will work with our team members to be the safest, highest quality, lowest cost producer and the employer of choice in the Alaska Seafood industry.

This position requires working as an HR Manager at one of our remote seafood processing facilities in Alaska for up to 4 months a year. This is a full-time, year-round paid position.

The right candidate will provide leadership and support in all functional areas of human resources including employment, employee records, employee relations, performance evaluations, employee development, training and special projects. As a key member of the plant management team provide sound advice and coaching to department managers on all HR related areas that impact the plant

Assist in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee booklets, communications and/or meetings. Prepare reports in conformance with legal and Company needs.

During off season, may have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule from home subject to the needs of the Company.

Responsibilities May Include:
Establish and maintain employment practices and procedures in accordance with plant and corporate guidelines and in compliance with all local, state and federal employment laws including EEOC, ADA, Civil Rights Act, and any applicable Affirmative Action Plans.
Plan and participate in performance management activities such as disciplinary reviews, terminations, standard employee reviews and succession planning. Documents appropriate information throughout the performance management process.
Assist in recruiting efforts to ensure your facility is fully staffed for production needs;
Provide proactive employee relations support including coaching, counseling, investigations, and dispute resolution. Responds to employee relations issues including employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints
Promote teamwork and interface with employees on continual basis. Coordinates employee special events such as cook-outs and other social events.
Recommend and seek continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures and programs through coordination and consultation with Human Resources Director;
Maintain facility level employee files;
Other duties as assigned;



At least 2 years HR Manager experience required. Previous supervisory history desired but not required. Bachelor's degree a plus. Relevant workplace experience may be a substitute for formal education.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

Travel to facilities in Alaska will be required during processing seasons. While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Round-trip travel provided to AK facility and home.
