You will be able to engage with customers to identify and expand the scope of work that will be proposed byProposal Specialists and executed by our delivery teams.You will be engaging at various levels at our customers including engineering, operations, and procurementup to a plant manager or executive levelto influence them to value Rockwell Automation as a delivery partner.You will ensure we are aligning scope to meet the customers budget and are in a competitive position.Competency is important and you will help Account Managers andSolution Consultants understand our value.Even as you own your particular solution, you will collaborate with otherApplication Consultantsto include differentiators and attachments into a comprehensive proposal.The Application Consultant will be involved in the forecast process, hold opportunity cadence reviews with your distributor partners and manage your opportunity funnel. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead scope definition, articulate differentiators and values versus competition for designated product, service or solution
  • Knowledge of the industry strategies, familiarity with outcome-based selling.
  • Understands the business drivers and KPI's of the customer.
  • Work with Sales, Consultants and Specialists to assess and respond toIT/OT,engineering, consulting, project and support services opportunities
  • Understand the customers need and be able to position and quote a desired outcome forasolution
  • Managementof the proposal process, from Bid Request, Informationgathering, Scope definition, Solution design andcosting, and Approvals - Collaboratewith Sales, Solution Consultants, Sales Specialists, Engineering, Services, and your peerproposal teams.
  • Expand the scope of solutionsto incorporate the full portfolio of Rockwell Automation offerings (ConnectedServices, Process, Power & Control, InformationSolutions,Packaged Power, and local Field Labor).
  • Makes full use of Global estimating tools and Global Engineering Center Proposal resources
  • Advise Consultantsand/or Salesonproposal generation, validation, and presentationsfor executive level customers
  • Share insights with peers.
  • Understand business models, organization, and go to market strategy, leverage where appropriateKey Performance Metrics
    • Support key business growth objectives (Achieve AOP order & sales targets for specific products)
    • Ensure all proposals are compliant with PARB / Internal RA approval processes
    • Provide accurate and professional proposals (On time / Win Rate / Hit Rate)
    • Pro-actively close identified skill gaps
    • Continually develop technical capability, while staying abreast of products
    • Maintain Frontlog 2-3X times to AOP
    • On time proposal / Win Rate / Hit RateBasic Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's Degree
      • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
      • 25% - 50% travel to customers within assigned geography required.Preferred Qualifications:
        • Experienced in working on Allen Bradley/Rockwell products, hardware and/or software, including: ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PLC 5, HMI, Panel View, RSLogix, Studio 5000, Factory Talk View, etc.
        • Bachelor's degree in an engineering/technical related field or equivalent work experience (considered for Canada candidates)
        • 5+ years pre-sales, direct sales or consulting experience as an estimator, proposal engineer or other contract, project or application engineering focused position
        • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Field Service Engineer or other project/application engineering focused position.
        • Demonstrated understanding oflarger Rockwell Automation application value including knowledge in Automation products including PLC, Standard Drives, Software, Networks and ideally good knowledge of third party products
        • Good application and industry knowledge
        • Demonstrated ability to work in a challenging environment with both internal and external customers
        • Strong solution and application expertise, and related demonstrated sales experience.
        • Fluency with native language and strong command of English (written & spoken).
        • Ability to work with and gain confidence of senior level personnel (internal and external) in a highly collaborative, matrixed stakeholder organization.
        • Ability to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
        • Ability to align and influence critical stakeholders.
        • Strong supporter of our customer centricity. Understands the importance of demonstrating concern for satisfying customers.
